Architectural services

In 1989, Eric Connolly received his Certificate of Practice from the Ontario Association of Architects and now maintains his own practice in Georgetown, Ontario.  The practice is involved primarily in institutional projects including schools, libraries, and senior’s facilities but carries out a range of other work including residential, commercial/industrial, infrastructure and Feasibility Studies.

The principals' background is mainly in the area of institutional projects.  That experience has created a similar focus for current projects, although the nature of a "small-town" practice has brought a wide range of project types to the offices' attention.

Projects have been diverse in terms of programme, size and the architect’s role. While this role is traditionally as prime consultant, we have also worked comfortably as Sub-consultant with Envelope Specialists, Engineers and Project Managers as the prime consultants.

We provide partial service of as well as "full service" components for the Design and Implementation of a Project including:

  • Pre-Design & Programming
  • Building Code / Fire Code Reviews
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Schematic Design
  • Design Development
  • Construction Drawings
  • Specifications
  • Tender Services
  • Contract Administration Services
  • Post Construction Review

Eric Connolly Architect provides Feasibility Study Services as well as Fire Safety Plans and Ontario Building Code Reviews.

Eric Connolly Architect has a solid background in Heritage Conservation stemming from the Principals experiences at Liverpool University in the UK. In addition, Eric Connolly was, from 1987 to 1997, a municipally appointed member of the Halton Hills Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee. Eric Connolly co-ordinated a Steering Committee for the Heritage Conservation District Study of the Village of Glen Williams. He has also authored a number of  Designated Property Reports for Municipal Council and articles for "Heritage Hearth", a forum for "Halton’s Heritage" news. He has also been a guest speaker at several art and heritage focus groups.

Sub-consulting services

The practice offers a full range of sub-consulting services including Quantity Surveying (cost control), Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Site Servicing Engineers and Landscape Architects.

Co-ordination between the Architect and his Sub-consultants is essential to successful documentation for a Building Project. Eric Connolly Architect has established a report with its Sub-consultants which the Firm has worked with for well over 15 years.
